ABOUT SALT CRAFT
SALT - one of the world’s oldest ingredients.
CRAFT - skill in making things by hand.
Salt Craft is a casual farm to table restaurant that features Chef Matt Greco's personal approach to everyday home cooking. The menu includes homemade breads, pastas, cured meats, and products of the Tri- Valley with a focus on local wine and beer.
Also inspired by the cooking, Salt Craft is set in a historic California home in downtown Pleasanton, featuring an open kitchen and all outdoor patio seating.
CHEF MATT GRECO
I grew up in the great state of Texas, where as a kid I learned to build smokers and smoke meat from my dad. I attended the Culinary Institute of America; spent ten years in New York City working as a cook and sous chef for three great chefs (Daniel Boulud, Andrew Carmellini, and Gray Kunz); launched a successful award winning restaurant in Brooklyn; was an executive chef at a winery restaurant; did a little bit of traveling; and received a few awards along the way. In New York I married another chef—a Bay Area girl—and after the birth of our first son we moved to Pleasanton, where cooking at home became a new inspiration.
At Salt Craft we bring the spirit of the chef’s home kitchen to a restaurant where the food can be enjoyed by everyone everyday. Cheers
